It's an okayish game, story wise it's quite lacking compared to other fallout games.
Having a voiced protagonist was terrible choice as it felt like it limited what choices we had. Gone were the days of science/intelligence/luck checks and replaced with soley charisma checks. shame really, and the sarcastic responses were always cringe inducing. It didn't feel like much of the 'fallout' feeling RPG. Some of the quests were constantly bugged or didn't for me (cough BoS quest and the cabot quests). Which most likely attributed to their aging 20 year old gamebryo engine.
the main storyline was "eh" (SPOILERS)
Just wished that Bethesda didn't reuse find your relative motive again back from fo3. I wish that we at least got a chance to bond with shaun before he was taken away from the Institute so we could at least care about him in the main storyline instead of carousing off to do random side quests for most of the game. The story felt like it didn't have a much of a choice on the matter about the Institute. The felt like just another shallow boogyman like antagonistic organization rather than a morally dubious faction.
What saved it for me was Farharbor it gave fallout 4 the classic rpg feel back and actually had good factions to side with.
