I've never rated anything 5 stars before, but Sia Furler's "Music" really is 5 stars. From the display of colorful music and visuals, to the tenacity of the plot, it shows clearly how open-minded and enlightened the creator is.
The movie is all around inspiring, taking otherwise overtold stories, and changing their perspectives, allowing the audience to see the plot unfold in the mind of an autistic teenager named Music. It deliberately tells the story of different people dealing with various challenges in their lives, being overwhelmed by those challenges, and some of them eventually working on themselves hard enough to defeat their fears.
Written and directed beautifully from the first musically exciting scene to the last, it incites a tearful burst of emotions, but in a good way, opening you up to your greatest fears of failure, and then powerfully inspiring you to overcome them. Ultimately it becomes a story with a happy ending, not because the characters overcome their challenges, but because they understand and accept the reality of the life around them.
