I was disappointed, the visuals were amazing, though the story and the characters lacked so much. Alita, a strong female character should actually be seen as a character and not just something strong. Her character doesn't seem human, she is just found and is all of a sudden has this urge to fight. The only background information we have on her are a couple of fight scenes that just tell her that she is good at fighting. What about that women in the flashbacks who is training her, her partner?, trainer?, mother? I don't know, the story doesn't tell me. Why does she have the urge to fight?
yes her love interest is one reason to fight after he dies, and the safety of the her 'father.' But what about the reason she was fighting 300 years ago? speaking of love interest, this movie spent way to much time on love, and he was introduced way to early into the movie. The movie was "okay", but it is just something to look at and appreciate the design, and not the story or the characters.
