Carnival Row is a thrilling transfer from book to script. A tale of a different world from ours, but with one similarity, human prejudice. A brilliant show that takes us to the lands fought on a different continent, filled with all kinds of mythological creatures, like fairies, changelings, and some new ones too. Most of the show is set in what could be described as an older looking European city, where because of human war, and greed, the uprooted inhabitants of the continent where the war took place now carve out a small part of the city. A soldier from the war, now a police inspector, must find the murderer behind the brutal killings on “ the row “. A dark, violent, but also beautiful story, of murder, love, betrayal, and redemption, all highly recommend, edge of the seat viewing! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I great cast, a great location for filming, high expectations from the first 20 minutes, even though when one the scientists were shut up half way through explaining what Morgan was, and from there on the script was lacking in emotion, especially when the first thing we see about Morgan, is ultra violence right at the start! Because after that, how can you judge for yourself. The big “ twist “ was blown, if you didn’t work it out, then maybe you liked it more than me? Good direction for a first attempt, but the screenplay could have been so much more, especially the psychology of the why, for both leads, because a sequel was left to the imagination!!!

It’s not Scotland for sure, but who cares, I gave this a really good chance to kick in and be a great romantic drama, Saoirse Ronan is a brilliant actor! Just not in this, I felt her heart wasn’t in it, though that could be due to book from film transfer, coz she really annoys for most of the film. Some of the cast were good. But I kinda knew 30 mins in it was lacking!! 1 and a half out of 5 😐
