How ya doin'?
The writing, direction, score, psychology of the characters, multi layered drama for people who want to be challenged by the content they consume. Who want to feel connected with the family (which is kinda funny because when consider how is it goin to be relatable when it is a mafia family). Go for it if you want some taste of realism with outstanding entertaining storylines and yet so believable. The complexity of each character is explored so in depth. i can't imagine the research that went into writing of this show. Each episode has an universe of its own, and you will take away a lot during every watch-time of the show, that's how layered every episode is, maybe every scene too. I'm still on Season 4 and couldn't resist myself to praise this brilliant yet stupid intelligent show with inspirations from Freud's psychoanalysis, the Surrealism, the philosophy is also at another level. I was blown away by the standards this show has. The lack of score is what makes it more realistic. I saw David Chase alluding that he wanted a show which doesn't give you things on platter for you to digest up in real time, instead a sense of mystery and vagueness but yet as an audience you feel that there is a single purpose writer wants to convey, but just like a piece of aa genius art it is open for interpretations. The genius of film-making, writing, direction, use of metaphors, philosophy, screenplay, casting, acting, every other thing that goes onto making this show is genius and makes you wonder could any other show top the standards like this one? This show is clearly intended for mature audiences and not for people who wants clear intentions from the storyline to satisfy their own sense of fullness. It leaves you completely in awe at the end of every episode.
