Really ill-written synopsis. The film is in fact a documentary, with a clear dramatic shade to it, about the life of a former gangster and his lover, a transgender woman. It is nonetheless a portrait of Italy that most ignore, the reality behind "Il bel paese", a depiction of Italy's poverty, it's people and the event's in history that has shaped the idiosyncrasy of that country.
Quite interesting lens on the subject and composition of the overall work, using poetry and "saggi" throughout the film to shape its aesthetics. No wonder why rotten tomatoes gave it a 100% score.
