Find that alots of Japanese do not like this movie? Just like them being lackers of US and forgot that who drop two atomic bombs on them. This show might not mean much to non chinese. But how we hope that during WW2 we can defend Singapore like they do. And not like the soldiers in front line are fighting like hell but the British commanders decide to give up.
Many viewers are not used to having US as the bad guys, especially those guys taking side of US or grow up watching Rambo.
