Even if you've never played a video game in your life, I'd urge you to play this game. It's not a long game; even at a leisurely pace you'd finish it in 4 days tops (provided you don't just watch a walk-through every time you get stuck on a puzzle). But it's an amazing experience; one you wouldn't wanna miss.
