It was a great film that leans heavily into the tropes of sexual violence such as the influence of alcohol and clothing. Carey Mulligan is a compelling female lead as she navigates embodying remorse, guilt, and vengeance. I was surprised at how deep the film dove into the topic of women helping to reinforce sexual violence against women and found it a refreshing narrative that does not 'demonize men' but rather holds society and modern culture accountable for the violence that is allowed to proliferate in settings such as bars, clubs, and universities.

This is an amazing book that provides a thorough account of events with a critical eye to the details of contexts which provided the foundation for modern issues experienced within Canada. Daschuk's text is a vital contribution to debunking the historical narratives surrounding the colonization of Canada and outlines the strategic violence against Indigenous peoples of Canada in a way that holds the colonial government accountable for the inequalities that continue to have impacts within modern communities.
