Was this book REALLY written by Mickey Spillane? Sure, the signature violence is all there, not to mention the dames but the language is execrable! I am not a prude and certainly not squeamish but I don't see the point in the frequent use of the word "f***king"! And the foul and lurid references to the sex act are totally unnecessary; they do nothing to advance the plot. Moreover, the plot itself is pretty confusing at times, obscured as it by the introduction of so many new characters on almost every page. So many bodies left lying about, all giving evidence of a large number of kinky hoods and not a single one of them actually blasted away by the hero himself (not Mike Hammer, I might add, who I'm used to seeing cleaning up New York virtually single-handedly)!
Read it if you must and enjoy it if you can. It's certainly not a boring read after all's said and done!
