I thought it was heartwrenchingly sad. It wasn't really a movie but a docu-movie. This wasn't a wealthy trip in your RV or the wealthy idiots tripping on acid at burning man! This was not about a fun roadtip or a vacation or even a journey. This movie explored the HARSH reality of homeless in our country who had to endure grave loss physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
These people aren't drug addicts, or lazy. They were screwed by the companies they dedicated their lives too. Many educated, many lost.
Do these people really have a choice of living a Nomad life? I don't think so.
Frances Macdonald is as outstanding as always but there is nothing to glorify living in a van down by the river! This is not some awesome choice to live life to the fullest. This is complete despair and other's so desperately parking their van by other's in despair to have any sense of connection. As I always state, just because you change the scenery doesn't mean you change the scene.
As always, Hollywood thinks it can take poverty, homeless, illness, grief and make it beautiful. It is not beautiful nor worthy of any other words than what people endure and will continue to in these dark times. It was and is just sad in Americas 3rd world country.
