A likeable hero, but with lengthy, dully shot dialogues, and no forward momentum at all. We gave up after 50 minutes because we really didn't care about the protagonists, or where it was going. Really don't understand the raves for this film, or why people apparently cheered at film festivals. We didn't watch it long enough to see anything to cheer about! Seriously those first 50 minutes were kinda dull! No, I don't need lots of fast action. But the first half of this film really didn't encourage me to waste any time on the rest!

Slack-paced, undynamic direction, with a one-note, unlikeable performance from star Keri Russell, a phone-in performance from a bewilderingly Americanised Rufus Sewell (couldn't we have had an American actor in the role as her husband?), the usual portrayal of Brits as either stuffy, old-fashioned, or blokishly matey (the always dependable Rory Kinnear as PM - he's OK)... working an impenetrable plot about which it's hard to care. And the occasional four-letter words feel just peppered in because that's what TV drama seems to want to do now, rather than feeling organically part of real dialogue. They just feel clunky! A component of the very clunky dialogue. And after rewatching "The West Wing" right through again till last week, this is so weak, stodgy, and uncompulsive by comparison. Frankly, for me, a waste of time! And I cannot understand why so many people here love it. As TV drama, it's really pretty dreadful!!

Quite a nice enjoyable film - but some of the characters are very broadly drawn - and unlike many here, I couldn't stand Mr Poppy - who irritated the pants off me. But, to be fair, that was the nature of the character: to be breathtakingly irritating! Otherwise, OK!

Unbelievably awful. Shockingly bad - from its banal script, peppered with the odd four-letter work to be "edgy" - to its uninspiring direction, its uncharismatic leading lady, supposedly a former financial city whiz, which justified her expensive London home, her unlikely one-dimensional boyfriend, and his zero-dimensional work colleagues all standing round to hear the latest news of his erstwhile girlfriend. It was so utterly tedious and frightful that we turned off after less than an hour. I cannot believe the enthusiasm of other commentators regarding this prime example of a typically bad British film! How this ever got financed, made, and platformed by Netflix defies understanding!
