Taylor Dearing

I would recommend this book to anyone 13+ that loves nonfiction or ski-fi books. I really enjoyed this book when I read it. This is very captivating book. You won't want to miss anything and you will have a lot of trouble putting the book down. For me, this book made it very easy to start reading it, because it jumps right into action and you already are interested in what's going to happen next. I will say that this book is a little mature. It has some intense kissing and a few swears along with some other minor things, but nothing too major. This is only the first book in the series. And OF COURSE it leaves you on a huge cliff hanger at the end of it. I have been waiting a year now for the next book and can't wait to read, "The Life Below" coming out February 18, 2020.

Probably my favorite of the series!

I thought this book was very intriguing and I could not put the book down! Every chapter would leave you with more answers than you started with, but you have to read the whole book in order to get all of the answers! I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good mystery book with some sci-fi also. I also recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Margaret Peterson Haddix's books, because in my opinion this is one of her best!

I think this was 100% worth the read! There were some parts of the book that were a little slow for me, but I think that is just because I usually read sci-fi. But, after I finished reading, I realized it was worth it. I love a good book that wants to make you cry, and this book certainly did this. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys nonfiction. I did research on the shirtwaist factory fire after i read the book and was amazed at how much facts about the event Haddix managed to slip into the book. The events in this story are real, but the characters and their stories are fiction. But, their might have well been someone involved in the Shirtwaist Factory Fire with similar stories as Bella, Yetta, and Jane.
