I have to give respect to whoever landed the casting of the two lead actors. Both actors admitted in interviews that they were drawn to the film because of the lengthy interview "dialogue" scenes. They said the scenes were like being in a play.
While the story seems to represent (well) many religious viewpoints and religious constructs, it doesn't seem to have invested much research into the atheist, agnostic, or those logical constructs against religious claims, faith, or general belief in the existence of God. (Specifically, speaking of the Abraham Religions in the film.)
The story seems to be written from a religious thinkers viewpoint, and skips over many valid arguments contesting those ideas. The skipping seemed very intentional, or at least lacked "reading up" onto opposing views. Anyone looking for a fair academic debate represented in the film, will likely be disappointed. It's one sided, and the cards stacked.
That being said, the film can be interesting at times, but very choppy. While it has a good heart at the center, the story itself, drags on outside the interview scenes. And many of the character interactions, seem very immature, elementary, and even eye rolling at times. The conflict between husband and wife, and the motivations that led to their problems, was rather insulting of one particular sex.
I'd give this film a 1.5 out of 5 stars... Good Acting, by two good actors.
