If you wanna watch this abomination of a movie donโt read this as there are spoilers!
Well I just finished the film a few minutes ago and am still speechless at what in the world I just watched.
As many people mentioned already the story has many holes in it. What ever happened to the lesbian girl crush? Why are the main characters suddenly in love with each other in less than 3 seconds of the film starting? The random dance party scene where did that come from? Also why are they on a bridge and the guy tries to run them over but heโs driving slower than my grandma. Then they just jump off a bridge cause ya know thatโs how you avoid it. (It was giving titanic when Rigel was sinking down in the water not gonna lie i cackled a bit). Bye Jack.
It truly seemed the story line is choppy and uncoordinated. I felt we jumped from place to place with not much flow or explanation.
Donโt get me wrong I like a good romance movie but thisโฆthis was weird. So many questions remain unanswered.
So many scenes where they gawk at each other with sexual tension. As they gaze into each others eyes but alas something pulls them away from their steamy exchange (lol).
I couldnโt take it seriously! People are right itโs a 14 year olds Wattpad fanfic dream. I also agree with the person that mentioned they shouldโve made it a series. The film was too fast paced and they had to jam it all into one. If they stretched it into episodes they couldโve dived deeper into the story line and had background characters (looking at you lesbian who deserves more screen time) to have their storyโs unfold too. We couldโve seen more character development or have the romance come to life slowly and meaningfully between the main characters. I feel like I couldnโt connect with anyone in the movie because there was so much being thrown at me at once with no true explanation and I was met with loose ends that had no answers.
Also, im sorry but the final scene with the kid? WHAT. IS GOING ON!! Were they trying to be cute and be like they got married and had a baby together and now sheโs a kid and look at this happy cute family. Girl. No. It just left me so confused and with a bad case of whiplash.
Sigh. This movie was definitely not on my 2024 bingo card but alas it made for an interesting night of questioning my love for romance films. Might have to read the book to compare. The movies definitely a flop.
