Good movie. Roy Rogers was riding high at this stage in his career before TV became popular and changed the economics of making B Westerns.
This is quite a violent film. Roy gets beaten up badly by the bad guys.
This is somewhat unusual for one of Roy's films.Republic were going for gritty action and realism at this stage after the World War 2.
However by the end of the film the bad guys are brought to justice and Roy gets his own back on the guys who beat him up.
This is Dale Evans last film with Roy until "Susanna Pass" in 1949.
Andy Devine appears for the first time in the series and stayed on as Roy's comic sidekick Cookie Bullfincher for the next couple of years.
The film was shot in Trucolor a cheaper version of color than technicolor as were several of Roy's films at this time.
