While not perfect, stardust (2020) is a decent enough David Bowie biopic. It has some very good cinematography and a really good performance by Marc Maron. But Johnny Flynn as David Bowie just doesn’t work. If the makeup was better on him and if they changed his voice a little bit, he could’ve been great as him but he wasn’t good AT ALL. Even though it’s disrespectful to Bowie’s legacy, I still like to go into a movie with the same problem as that open minded. I wanna see if a movie is good or not even if it didn’t have permission to be made. And would I say that this is good? I mean, it’s okay. I think people should be less harsh on it but I understand why you would not want to watch it. But maybe just check it out to form your opinion on the film instead of not watching and just giving it half a star rating because of all of the drama that happened with the project. Rating: 6/10. I’ll probably pick it up on dvd and watch it again to see if it’s any worse or any better than I remember it being.
