The first season was a great story with loads of character development, and understanding their backstory and motivations. Sadly, the storytelling was lost in season 2, in favour of more flashy fights. Character development was at a standstill; many of them trained to activate some new power on a single occasion and never got to use it consistently. Fights were dragged out for way too long, only to be interrupted by cliffhangers, or spoilt by very poor decision making. So many battles would have ended in victory for the team if they had better teamwork or could prioritise better, something you'd think they would know better given their experience on the field. In the end, it became a race for the power creep to see which character got more powerful quicker. Even the product placements were done horribly, in particular the last episode. There were so many advertisements in that segment and all were done so awkwardly, you'd think those were sprung on the team and they had no time to prepare for it. Give the premise of the show, so much could have been done better to make it more exciting.

Many people say that you should watch the movie for the special effects, but imo the special effects aren't that special anymore. It could be bad timing, but there have been many movies with a underwater/sea theme so expectations are high. Unfortunately, this movie did not live up to it. Special effects were good, but not breathtaking. Plot was unbearable, and everything that happened in the movie was driven by the poor decisions of the navi children. There were so many plot holes and inconsistencies throughout the movie I stopped questioning because it was getting too ridiculous. Run-time was definitely too long, and even despite that, I don't think anything significant progressed, there are still so many unanwered questions. All-in-all, this will be a good movie if you treat it like a documentary. Play it in the background while you finish your chores around the house, looking up every few minutes to admire the "nature" in the show. I heard from a friend that there will be 3 more movies, totalling 5. At this rate, the director might want to cut their losses and just wind up the series; it is definitely going nowhere and I don't think the audience will be giving it another chance after this flop.

Gory and full of action, by far my favourite from the DC universe. Loved that it did not take itself too seriously, unlike way too many other movies from the same franchise. That said, felt that it was too Deadpool-esque, which made it less entertaining as the movie wore on.

Mulan 2020 was a lot of wasted potential. Given the decision to do away with the songs, music, and even mystical elements (Mushu, ancestors etc) of the original 1998 movie, the remake had so much potential to explore the themes Chinese society in that era. Instead, the audience was treated with bland, cliched caricatures of Chinese mythology (the Phoenix, Chi, "magic" in the form of the witch). Even the CGI effects were not that impressive, starting in the first scene in the village, and lots of the movements were very poorly done, leading to the action looking choppy and unbelievable. Plot-wise, this movie adopted the skeletons of the original story, but took liberties with the detail, to little success. Character development had been thrown out the window. Where the original movie showed Mulan's amazing development as a "misfit" in the army, then proving herself through her abilities and wit, the Mulan here was boring as hell. Born with an innate ability to connect with her Chi which made her more powerful than other people, she was told to hide her abilities, until a reckoning caused her to accept her power and save the day. If it sounded familiar, I half-expected her to break out into "Let it go", before quickly realising that this movie wasn't meant to be fun. Besides the wacky plot, obvious loopholes, lacklustre characters, this movie has also been plagued by various political issues. Viewers should think twice before watching this movie. If you only have time to think once, skip it.

Boring "sequel" with lacklustre writing and plot. While the first movie set the stage nicely and reinvented the zombie movie genre, this new one seemed lazy, and easily fell into the cookie cutter zombie movie plots. This movie does try to pull at your heartstrings through the story, but character development was shallow and it was difficult for viewers to identify with the characters during the emotional scenes. In the end, the movie traded storytelling for more elaborate CG effects, and sacrificed what made the initial movie a success. The current iteration felt more like a sequel for Mad Max: Fury Road.
