Excellent production. Fair-minded, objective and historically accurate based on several books about Grant, the Civil War, and Reconstruction that I’ve read over the years. The producers could have covered more about his troubled relationship with his father which had a big impact on his desire to be independent from him, and a few mistakes (misstatements and orders about “jews” trying to profit early in the war, of which he was rightly ashamed). More on the fact that he was too trusting of his friends and business associates who duped him early (in Oregon) and late in his career (Wall Street) would have improved the production further.
