I stumbled on this movie. I didn’t hear about it’s promotion or marketing for theaters. Emilio Esteves is at the top of his craft, in writing, directing and producing this film. While the subject matter is more than timely, his creative way of drawing the audience into the plight of the homeless, simultaneously shedding light on the usury of political and media forces, for their own purposes, was pure genius. Esteves was clever to make sure the audience knew that the homeless are our veterans, neighbors and those who need empathy for their plight. What a sharp, cogent reminder that we all have a role to play, in finding alternatives to ignoring the daily reality of homelessness. I hope that he finds or creates other vehicles to speak to our hearts and heads. Kudos to Emilio Esteves and the cast!
