Watched the first 6 episodes. Here's my 2 cents so far: The trailer OVERSELLS the entire series! I desperately want the show to be as half as promising as the trailer, but its really not. Although, where ever, there is a promising narrative about to take of into the air, it doesn't. But, what kept me glued is the cast. Nicole Kidman is electrifying as the lead (although her Russian accent fades in some scenes, but is easily forgivable); Melissa McCarthy is astonishing! Watching her is always a breath of fresh air, she tackles drama easily, Bobby Cannavale provides concrete material as well (Melissa & Bobby's chemistry is the sizzle of the show), also adding to a beautifully blended cast is Regina Hall, who is freaking excellent and shines in her dramatic scenes (another comedic actress who is also fire with drama), Michael Shannon is as reliable as always, the man is something else! Luke Evans also shines in the little scenes he is given, and also the remaining perfect strangers give perfect performances!

Thanks to sincere and moving performances, stunning visuals and a powerful implementation of the Bible, this faith based film is certainly elevated higher in the hearts of it's viewers. Promotes and enriches both God and the importance of faith!

Sure The Kissing Booth may have its flaws, but it has many flourishing elements to cover it up - charming and unique writing, fresh direction, a heartfelt look at provocative themes and my personal favorite, a standout and shining performance from it's lead, Joey King.
