I loved this show, really well put together. I noticed that all of the bad reviews are from white people or black people dating/married to white people. I can see that they don't even want to be hit with the history he puts into this show.
I felt like he really touched on the huge issue that I have with America, is that everything is based around the white standard. Nothing is based around other ethnicity. It's what whites deem to be beautiful that I can't see beauty in. The food, the hairstyles, the clothing choices and body types are just nothing I've ever favored and yet it was all shoved down my throat growing up in a predominately white area.
He also showed the issues of black children or mixed children growing up in a white household that will never understand them or let them connect with their culture. I see a lot of white people saying he had so many opportunities, but everyone has so many opportunities and you pass on the ones that you don't want.
Anyways, its always easier to judge on the outside looking in. Until you truly experience these issues as a black person America, you'll never understand it... heck, you probably see it and choose to not understand it, because it suits you and makes you feel better.
