First of all, Gayle, Tony, and Nate are just glorified teleprompter readers. However, Nate can't read one without sounding like a bad actor desperately trying to remember his lines. Gayle is too busy interrupting and lording it over everyone else. And for the supposed centerpiece of the show she is painfully ignorant of everyday facts and apparently has no qualms about letting us know it. Tony is so bland he blends into the set. None of them are real journalists so any editorializing they do is banal and embarrassing. Real journalists would help the line-up. John Dickerson, Jericka Duncan, Michele Miller, Dana Jacobson would certainly lend some credibility and the show is so much better when Gayle is gone and one of them takes her place.
CBS has apparently decided that real news is not important and have decided to move to the buddy-buddy system with joking around becoming the norm. Enter Vlad. Pretty soon they'll be doing hot foots and whoopee cushions. I have watched this show for years but it's time to move on. American "news" shows are s joke so I'll be looking for my news from international sources. Maybe I'll get more real news and less fluff.
