Love this show. Henry Cavill is the true Geralt of Rivia in person. As the player who spends nearly 200 hundred hours in the witcher 3 game, it builds an instant connection between me and the show when Henry speaks with a deep and near close ear whispering tone. At that moment, I knew, Henry got this. Dandelion is spot on! The first impression of Yennefer for me is not that great. It is because of the characteristic of Yennefer in my mind is already reinforced by the Yennefer in the game. However, such a conclusion is changed by the script (Yennefer's early days is hardly mentioned in the book) and Anya Chalotra's acting skills. With only a lack of bit cold and elegant, I think Anya performed it perfectly. For Ciri I think it is a bit too mature (less vivacious?) compared to my imagination. Freya Allan does look very pretty. The storytelling is a bit messy. Yet I do understand the struggle what the writer experienced since the first book of the witcher what the show based on is expressed in a way of short stories that are not continuous chronologically (time gaps in between), also with very little of Yennefier and Ciri mentioned. It is quite hard to manage the timeline also combine the content from multiple books together at the same time. The writer did try and it turned out ok as there are many details in the show that provide clear information on what timeline we are currently watching. Last bit of complaint, the people who played Renfri should be playing Triss! Overall, the show might be a bit unfriendly to someone completely new with the series. Yet, for people who have background knowledge, it is quite an entertainment.
