I started this game with scepticism, given the divisive reviews that I have read.
But given the current worldwide situation I have to say this is the first game in a very long time that has given me such an emotional experience and overwhelming feeling of escapism.
To find some equipment that another player has left to assist you on your path and in turn pay it forward by helping your fellow porters is a truly rewarding experience that I urge any player to pay mind to when playing death stranding.
The soundtrack is also beautifully fitting and greatly adds to the experience as you find your way across an unrecognisable American landscape.
Don't get me wrong I can understand why certain players don’t bond with this game given it’s initially confusing menus and abstract story.
I haven’t finished the game yet but have thoroughly enjoyed traversing the land and talking the obvious and unexpected obstacles that I have come across. Whether it be a gorge that I hadn’t noticed on the map or a group of mules or the dreaded BTs.
I have found this game so far to be a truly emotionally connecting and challenging experience and couldn’t recommend it highly enough to somebody that wants a game that is vastly different to anything else available.
