This is a work of literary fiction and maybe part memoir whose plot revolves around a young man in Communist Poland (approx 1968-1980) growing to accept his own identity as a gay guy.
It is in turn tough and tender, poignant and insightful. The writing is both elegant and direct.
As stated above, this is literary fiction, the real deal. This isn't M/M romance genre where straight women are creating a version of gay minstrelsy for the titillation of other straight women.
This book profoundly gets inside the head of the young man while he confronts the urgent drive to be connected to others as he finds more self-acceptance of his developing sexuality.
