The Valachi Papers is the go-to movie to tell about early to late 20th century mob activities ably acted by Charles Bronson, he played a difficult role but did so telling the story of Joseph Valachi a low level Mafia figure who lived through the turbulent eras of the 1920's to the early 1960's and took the oath of "Omerta" seriously until he thought his life was being threatened by his own Family Leader. Great re-creation of the eras backdrops and actor portrayal of the leaders and figures associated with the story-line. Peter Maas knew first-hand the story of Joseph Valachi because he interviewed him in his jail cell before Valachi died in in 1971. A must see movie for the mob aficionado.
