The main character is a good actor, as was the policeman in the cult. The rest is just an unrealistic spoon fed briefest, with adults writing scripts about what they think kids are like. The adopted kid is the best actor in the family (and best dressed, Why do most Americans in these shows dress so badly?). The entire thing was predictable, more drawn out than the walking dead, not at all scary and frankly a waste of money to make. The actual cinematography was good though. The into was like a cross between a woke Peaky Blinders and an art students Walking Dead. 2 out of 5. Avoid.
PS, as a Scotsman I find it borderline offensive and just simply lazy that Netflix thought, oh let’s add them speaking GAELIC to make it sound more Satantic!?! That’s an entire country and cultures national language! It’s clear the “writers” know nothing about inverted crosses (the sign of St. Peter) and pentagrams (a Wiccan pagan symbol)… just all lazy and offensive.
