This movie is an enchanting love story. Gweneth Paltro is full of grace and charm, especially when reciting lines from Romeo and Juliette. She steals the show for sure but Joseph Feinnes as young William Shakespeare is excellent and brings a lot of wit and charm himself. If you are a Shakespeare fan, and a rom com fan this movie will satisfy completely. I've watched it several times over the years. Each time is like the first.

I remember seeing this film in the theater. My sister and I were very caught up in it. It is directed well and the scenes are very convincing--disturbing is a better word. My problem is with the concept of aliens coming to Earth for what? To test people? Experiments? A race of beings advanced enough to travel the speed of light or even faster would, I presume, have a greater purpose for coming than to probe our insides. The malevolent character of these beings simply frightens and appalls the viewer. It does not make you think or ponder the possibility of extraterrestrial life. We have our own monsters right here on Earth who can torture and probe with the best of them. We don't need other worldly villains too. Still, the movie was suspenseful, kept your attention and the acting was better than average. 3 stars.
