I know half of you reading this may probably wish to flag this comment as being inappropriate, as you must’ve fallen in love with the movie right from the moment you saw its trailer. To begin with, I actually liked Laura Marano’s acting a lot, considering I’d only seen her act as a child actor in Austin and Ally years ago. Noah Centineo was, eh, okay. The movie’s concept was, sure, pretty interesting and rather new- certainly more relatable to the people of our age, but the movie didn’t keep me as much on the hook as I’d expected it to. The idea behind it was amazing, I’d have to give the writers that, but it missed a good building-up storyline and was rather okay- a one-time-watch. I’d say it was a bit cliche. You could predict majority of the storyline that’d follow in about 20 minutes of watching the movie. Goofy guy falls in love with the wrong girl, the right girl gets hurt by some irresponsible comment he makes, he realises his mistake and patches up. Followed by a happy ending with a kiss. It could be a bit more fun, you know? The whole wait was a bit too hyped, I’d say. Or I guess really being into movies like pretty woman, 10 things I hate about you, and how to lose a guy in 10 days just sort of lifts up your standards of good romcoms. (Don’t kill me for having my own opinions! XD)
