Okay. So, this film is a thought-provoking drama about privacy. Should we end it? Is it better for there to be no secrets? Those questions drive the plot of the movie. The movie gives motives for both sides. For example, knowing where everyone is located dramatically reduces the chance for crimes to even occur, much less come to fruition. However, shouldn't there be a right for privacy? Shouldn't everyone have a right to choose what the public knows about them? Really, the fact that this movie makes you critically examine important questions which may very well become reality is the best thing about it. All that said, this movie needs help. Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, and Karen Gillan are all phenomenal actors, but there's only so much you can do with an oddly constructed story and script. Some critical emotional plot points are ruined by the ending. One is left confused about which side of the argument(Is privacy worth it?) the writers are pushing. The main character Mae, played by Watson, is sometimes confusing and other times straight out stupid. Overall, it was an interesting movie ruined by weird writing and a bad ending.
