It harkens back to Superman sequels of the 80s, the bad ones. Gadot is charming.
Her chemistry with Pine is palpable but they can't overcome the nonsensical, overstuffed and convoluted plot. Pascal attempts to elevate an otherwise, one note baddie. The generalizations about men and women are disappointing. It suggests that all men (except Steve) are over-sexed perverts and that it is not enough for women to be smart and accomplished but that we need to be pretty, the object of desire and love. Diana is reduced to a desparate, love lorned character from a bad romcom. There is not enough Wonder Woman nor action throughout the film. The resolution of the film, a lackluster and annoying speech on truth, and the reaction it inspires made no sense. Many things that happened begged questions and occasionally contradicts the rules the film established for itself.
