Honestly sat in the theatre and bawled my eyes out. Was crying buckets. So many in-depth themes to be analysed upon and the plot is unexplainably good. You can 100% understand this movie without having watched the previous episodes, however, I strongly recommend watching the anime first as it builds a lot of understanding of the characters. Not to mention, the art and music are by far the best I have ever come across in anime. Favourite movie for life and nothing can change my mind.
