I do appreciate that the family of Sam Derry aren’t overly appreciative of this, but it is important to bring his existence to light to modern generations and fictionalised accounts like the one we are presented with here do that objective justice. The reader is directed to find out more about the real man’s story. What we have here is a masterclass of fiction writing and story telling so good, as soon as I finished it I started reading it again. A wonderfully constructed well written thoughtful and thrilling read from a masterful writer. Amazing.
