I am surprised the reviews and rankings for this series appear to be decidedly mediocre. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and hungrily binged it in a couple of days.
Auntie Sima's heart seemed to be in the right place and was an easy character to trust and get behind. It was a very interesting look into a culture and customs that I have had no personal experience with, and I found it incredibly fascinating for that alone. I do know at the end of the day that this is a reality television show, and all the issues that can come with that. But at surface level, it was enjoyable seeing these Indians and Indian-Americans live their lives.
Was it perfect? No. The ending was incredibly abrupt. I feel like some of the cast was probably more interested in being on TV than actually getting married. And Sima's trusted card reader seemed to be batting at about a 0. But overall, I liked it a lot and would 8/10 recommend.
