The storyline is absolutely gripping and take us through the bureaucracy as well as ordinary lives beautifully. Ma and Beti are absolutely real characters depicting true feelings of women of different age groups . The pain of partition and the realities of the traumatic days are brought up vividly by Geetanjali Shree . The way non living things have been explained as having life is amazing . The crow plays a vital role . So complete life around us has been picturised in this great piece of literature It’s a must read

Inside out and back again is an absolutely gripping verse novel .The poignant account of the real life experiences of Ha and the family are heart wrenching. The poetic form gives it the quality of a quick read and the emotional appeal of the language takes us right into the lives of the characters. The book is similar to Khaled Hosseini ‘s Sea Prayer . Quickly the book takes us through Vietnam ,the transit phase and life in America ,the land of hope . The courage of the Mother is inspiring and the suppressed emotions of the children are so real . The reminders of back home keep coming back . Missess Washington comes with a ray of hope as a teacher as well as one who loves and cares about psychological needs of Ha as well .The positive hope the book builds through the new year celebration towards the end is encouraging . Strongly recommend the book so that we know about the real details of the lives of the people in times of such tragedies .

An extremely gripping book for all the deep insights into the mind of Tana ,the main character . The writer has a keen knowledge of the working of the mind and equally about the world of medicines . The novel has added interest being based on a true story .Tana the ordinary nurse finds the love of her life in the wealthy Vikram only to realise that things are not as they appeared .The style is intricate and demands an attentive reading and the book is difficult to put down till we reach the end due to the interest it generates in the reader. People are hard to know -and most strange is of course the working of Tana’s mind though we can blame her upbringing for the same . Her shocking actions are sewn into the texture of the book with dexterity.The best friend to depend upon -the dear diary of hers -the Rose is her only support which too supposedly ditched her only to suffer the fate that others did at her hands .
