It is a travesty to the legacy of Jane Austen that the so-called talented writers decided to mold characters, motivations and a conclusion that was so untrue to the way Austen, through her completed books, viewed relationships and the healing power of love. To paraphrase Mr. Knightly, badly done, very badly done indeed.
