I really thought this movie was so boring. I found no emotional connection to any character in any time period. The concept was just hokey and dull. Couldn’t be over soon enough for me.

While already knowing the story of Lucy and Desi before this film, I find it interesting that they chose to focus on Lucy’s communist accusation and keep the entire movie around one very mediocre episode of the show. I know they were trying to show Lucy’s attention to detail and excessive rehearsing, as well as how she asserted herself into the production of the show. But what they fail to show by a long shot is the trouble they had in their marriage. Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem do a great job as Lucy and Desi.
