This show is a jaw-dropping example of narcissism and privilege. The husband and wife team appear to have zero self awareness. It also seems as though there are no people of colour employed anywhere in the large company they head up (or indeed anywhere in the show at all!). Budgets for a single room start at $30,000. That level of budget is described (derided) by the owner of the business as a small budget. Interactions with the clients appear awkward and stilted. The producers of the show put a huge effort into presenting the husband and wife couple as wholesome. It comes across as contrived and self-involved. Just nope nope nope to all of this.

The concept behind this film is interesting, because there hasn't really ever been a mainstream movie about the Eurovision Song Contest, despite the evergrowing popularity of the annual event. The execution of the storyline is generally good, with some flaws in the consistency of the story. Fantastic acting from the two leads roles, and the scenes of the host city, Edinburgh, are truly stunning. I just can't shake the feeling that it could have been so much more than it actually was. Even though it lasts over two hours, it still felt a little rushed to me. Overall, this movie is an enjoyable, funny and sometimes sad story of two Icelanders with a big dream, that shouldn't be taken too seriously.
