I am not sure why critics gave poor ratings. I'm not sure what they expected. I very much enjoyed it. I would have hoped to have seen more character development. But overall, i was glued all the way through. This film has an amazing cast and I would recommend it

Quite different to the books, but just as brilliant. Love the female leads, Comer, Oh and Shaw just kill it. I would have loved a fifth season

Amazing cinematography that prpells you back to 1950's America. Presenting a story that even Simone de Bouvoire would be proud of. There are so many female heterosexual actors that portray gay women & you just don't feel the magic. But I was captivated by Blanchette in her seduction of Maras enigmatic Audrey Hepburn like character who is on her own journey of self discovery in a patriarchal society . A very realistic & timeless narrative of a womans struggle to assert her identity without shame. A beautuful story with a bitter/sweet ending. The only downfall was Weinsteins involvment.
