Once you get past the hackneyed writing you run headlong into Ackles character who is a walking cliche'.He struggles with even this painful stereotype, every reaction cannot be a sneer or leer. The other actors could be good if the show was better. Unfortunate.

This may be the worst show I've ever liked. The female lead character has unintelligible accent that comes and goes at will. Nearly all the acting is pretty awful. The dialogue is clunky and hackneyed. But, what the hell it's great fun anyway.

This is admittedly not a superb film, that being said the costumes and Sreisands magnificent voice makes it worth the time spent. The problem for me was the distinct lack of chemistry between the leads.
