Dark...without the comedic element found in other DC comic derivatives. But that aside...the story is not new but presented in a stark realistic fashion. Joaquin Phoenix' performance is phenomenal! I left the theater thinking the man needs help !? Overall a good movie that has subplots that apply to today!
