I personally find it coming off sounding too scripted, with overly grandiose scenarios that go on way too long simply to fill in programming time. The support group of friends feels rather gimmicky, and put in place in order to cause the viewer to perhaps find it more authentic; yet they almost appear too stiff and somewhat detached. A group of poor actors. It also leaves me with this sick feeling in my gut like something just isn't right about these tales of horror, and that the creators of this program are simply telling some overblown, made up ghost stories to thrill their viewers whilst bamboozling them.
