Saw JJ last night on Prime. I believe most of the reviews here are paid, just like most of the reviews today are. My honest take would be - just a so-so movie.
Though one moment really was symbolic in the importance of family as Saif's character realizes. Chunkey Pandey is alone in a hospital, no one to look after him. He says to Saif that he lied to everyone that he's going to Ibiza on a music festival (even though he's hospitalized) just to hide his loneliness and not let anyone know his vulnerability.
That moment Saif realized the depth of family and meaningful relationships, and futility of hedonistic lifestyle which is fleeting.
But I believe Mrs. Malaika should have been used properly for making a sentimental punch. The willow tree was a moral compass, but it lacked the push.
