The sub-title of the book is "Studies in Self-Denial." I believe 2 Timothy 3.2 describes the times in which we now live. Here's the NIT: People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy.... Mr. Chantry addresses this difficult topic effectively, and yet, not at all offensively. No matter how often I read/study this book, I know I will want to do it "once more"!
