If nothing else The Rise of Skywalker broke my confidence in Disney leading this franchise into something we could love. The messy story telling and the complete retcon of Anakin's sacrifice really made me lose interest and almost walk out. It seems to me that people have forgotten that star wars is about story telling and self sacrifice. Instead we got a flashy show with a storyline that was written by toddlers, and furthermore enforced my opinion that Rey is a character that has received no character development and challenge. We always know that no matter what, she will win. This is the jar jar binks of star wars movies, and I pray that I am never forced to see it again.
