I have been a viewer through the decades, but am finding concerns for how journalism goes forward, as people with power, no longer feel compelled to respond to questions asked, facts, and greater contexts.
If a person, holding the audience's attention cannot respond to the subject matter, it may be best to create new codes for how journalistic standards are held in place. Perhaps fact checkers should pre-edit statements, on the air, so that there can be a screened text alert to viewers of unsubstantiated data being shared. Is there a rating system for how far off the mark some news outlets/operations can veer, from fact based reporting?
Thanks to Judy Woodruff and the News Hour Team for navigating the challenges of news delivery....true super spreader events on a nightly basis!
