If could I'd give a 3.5 stars rating.
Only thing I hated about the film is how they showed the popular bhagvat gita verse during a sex scene. The lowest I can expect from Nolan movie was this. Bhagavat Gita is a holy book. It must be respected. This was Nolan's first R rated movie. And it was all for Bhagvat Gita verse to disrespect? I'm pretty sure, Oppenheimer himself wouldn't have liked this. He found Gita so good that moved him. And not something that he'd do during such a phase
Overall a great experience. If you love science, go watch this story of first atomic bomb and the man behind it. Amazing combination of science, politics, music and cinematography. I'd agree on people saying it's hyped so much. Dunkirk, Interstellar, Memento are still way better.
This is a biography, what more can we expect. Nolan presented it in a best way possible. Don't go if you want something super exciting like a war scene. This movie is just about the development of atom bomb, the story before it and story after it. How this affected the whole world, how it has changed the humanity, the way people think then and now. This will surely make you think. Were they right. Atom bomb is probably one of the worst thing that science has given to the world. But do they think the same? Do you think the same?
Watching those movie will make you a part of Oppenheimer's life and experience it so closely than you ever can.
