"1917'' The film opens with a claustrophia-inducing trek through the ill-kept British trenches that introduces Mendes unique filming style, which feels like it was filmed via one continuous shot. Then, our two heroes receive their orders. There is one feature of “1917” that is so outstanding that it makes the film worth seeing, or almost worth seeing. It's the cinematography, as well as all the visual elements that became part of the cinematography — the set design and decoration, the blocking and planning of scenes and the choreography of the shots.
