I started reading this book recently and with feelings of deja vu realised I’d already read it! I love Kate’s book- especially her stories going back and forth in time but this one is forgettable. I didn’t even remember the opening pages where the main character arrives in Australia with its beautiful blue sky, having left London with St Paul’s encased in London mist. How original. Why do TV dramas, films and authors feel the need to always portray Lindon and the UK with dreadful weather and in a negative way. Yes it rains here, as it does in most countries. Anyway back to the book- not one I’d recommend. Longwinded and not interesting. The Secret Keeper is my favourite

An absolutely dreadful film and a disappointment. A pretty boy doing some Elvis ‘ah ha ha’s’. Tom Hanks was ridiculously poor at Tom P. I was expecting so much more.

This is hilarious with a poor script. I love the way the country and capital are shown on the screen eg London, England. Not London in Spain then? If only the people in charge of the music toned it down a little (OK a lot). The music is playing in every scene and is drowning out the dialogue, the actors seem to be whispering and speaking at top speed. I watched one episode and can’t stand the distracting and unnecessary constantly playing music. Cut the music, different script and it would have been worth watching. I agree with the 100 year old running the airline. I know CP is dead but he’s not believable in this role.

It’s engaging but how true? The most puzzling thing is why the men refer to Shannon as cute, lovely, etc. the actress is miscast as she’s not even attractive. Blonde and slim but attractive?

Other than Detectorists and The IT Crowd, it’s been a while since I’ve laughed out loud at a TV comedy. Not keen on the music but the mute button comes in handy for that. I love the actress playing Dom. She’s great. Actually all the cast are great. I’ve only watched the first episode!

Some great acting - but the poor ageing make-up on most of the cast immediately gives a lot away. There’s a girl in a wheelchair - I wonder what will happen to her? I watched up until episode 4/5 and nothing much was happing (except for the make-up slipping away from the ‘aged’ faces’), Vampires and much talk around religion and beliefs - all been done before, and better.

Always loved Jim’’ll Fix It - I think it was broadcast on Sundays? Loved the kids with their wishes, some were so minor and sweet I did get annoyed at the BBC paying for visits (with our licence money) to far flung countries, but on the whole the programme was enjoyable and fun. Saville was a great entertainer, and as the viewing numbers show, he was very popular with viewing public. Of course we now know about him, but at the time he was a great public figure, with his fund raising and TV appearances. I hope his victims have had all the support they need.
